During my communications career, I have served as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PR professional<\/strong> in a boutique PR firm.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Employee communicator at Hallmark Cards<\/strong>. There, my channel was named best of its kind in the nation by Women In Communications and best of its kind in the world by the International Association of Business Communicators.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Editor of a nationally acclaimed executive magazine<\/strong>. In that role, I interviewed dozens of CEOs and billionaires and learned what kept businesspeople up at night.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Professor of graduate writing and communication classes<\/strong>. There, I started researching what makes readers tick and developing that material into the workshop you\u2019re attending now, as well as many others. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Freelance writer for national magazines<\/strong>. Don\u2019t hate me! But as a freelancer I conducted face-to-face interviews with many people, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Robert Redford.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Consultant and writer<\/strong> for organizations like FedEx, Progressive Insurance and Whole Foods. That work earned more than 60 communication awards, including two IABC Gold Quills \u2014 the Pulitzer Prizes of business communications.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Writing trainer<\/strong>. This role has taken me from Hollywood to Helsinki \u2014 and more recently, to my kitchen counter for Zoom sessions.
